Community feedback from the third phase of engagement was incorporated into the final recommendations which were presented to the Kingston Frontenac Public Library Board at a special meeting on Thursday, August 10, 2023.

The Central, Calvin Park and Isabel Turner branches have been closing at 8:00 p.m. instead of 9:00 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays since evening hours were reinstated following pandemic-related closures. Staff recommended that these service hours be redistributed, with eight hours per week added at the Rideau Heights Branch bringing hours of operation from 36 to 44 hours per week on a permanent basis.

The changes to hours of operation were approved by the Board, and the new hours of operation will go into effect in fall 2023.

The Pittsburgh Branch hours of operation to be offered during the Extended Hours Project were determined through a separate engagement process.
