Engagement Activities

2024

KFPL surveyed current Extended Hours users, as well as those who listed the Pittsburgh Branch as their primary branch in the database as of September 30, 2024. The purpose of the engagement was to assist in the evaluation of the Extended Hours Pilot Project by collecting patron feedback.

The survey was distributed via email to 5,161 patrons. A paper version of the survey was made available and a sign with a QR code linking to the digital survey was posted.

Survey responses were collected between October 23 and November 10, 2024, with a total of 488 survey responses received. An engagement report was included in the Library Board agenda for the November 24, 2024 meeting.

2021-2022

Three information open houses, held on December 8, 9 and 11, 2021, launched the community engagement process for this project. Community members were able to share feedback and ask questions about the Extended Hours Project. The final report summarizing participants' comments is now available.

Two community consultations were held on October 18 and 22, 2022.  KFPL's Chief Librarian and CEO Laura Carter participated in discussions with participants on the implementation and safety protocols that will be in place for Extended Hours. A summary report of feedback received is now available.

A project report on the Extended Hours Project was received by the Kingston Frontenac Public Library Board on November 16, 2022.

Residents of Kingston East and other potential users of the Pittsburgh Branch were invited to share feedback on the proposed schedule of Extended Hours and full service operation. Sessions were held on January 11, 14 and 17, 2023, and hosted by Kimberly Sutherland Mills, Director, Service Design and Delivery. A summary report, including finalized hours of operation for the pilot project, is now available.
